How the gift travels
The customer picks their prize and enters a friend's number. The friend gets a notification if they have the app, otherwise an SMS with a joining link. One of the two, never both.

Whoever collects becomes your member. No card at your shop? They join to take the gift, and they take it from you. A new member you paid nothing in advertising for. They came because your customer wanted to treat somebody.
