Stamps, points or cashback? Choose in three questions

Three questions about your bills and your customers decide the kind that fits your shop.

No kind is better than another. One kind fits the way you sell. Stamps reward coming back, points reward spending, and cashback returns money that is spent with you. Answer these three questions with your own shop's numbers, not a guess.

  1. How far apart are your bills? Take a normal small bill and a normal big one (not the rare cases). If the big one is under three times the small one, your bills are close together.
  2. How often does a regular come? Once a week or more is frequent. Once a month or less is occasional.
  3. What do you sell? One hero item most people come for (a coffee, a sandwich, a haircut), or a wide range with no single item everyone buys (a grocery, perfumes, clothes)?
Stamps
Close bills, frequent visits and a hero item. Cafés, juice bars, car washes, barbers. The kind a customer understands with no explanation, and the cheapest for you, because the prize is an item you make.
Points
Varied bills (a family at 300, one person at 40) and a menu at many prices. Restaurants, bakeries, sweet shops. Fair, because whoever spends more collects faster, and the prize is still an item off the menu.
Cashback
A wide range with no single item that works as a prize, and big or occasional bills. Groceries, perfumes, clothes, expensive services. Everyone understands a riyal, but it is the dearest kind for you, because you give back money rather than an item.
