Cash between shifts

The closed drawer, counting it on the next shift, and the owner's cash when the safe is off.

When a shift closes, the cash left in the drawer still counts as the branch's until that device opens a new shift. The next shift counts it.

The safe is off
The counted cash stays in the drawer. On the next shift, count what is in the drawer and type it as the «Opening float». Less than the last shift left is booked as cash the owner took; more is booked as cash the owner added.
A drop with the safe off
A «Drop to the safe» with no safe is booked as cash the owner took.
The safe is on
The float left in the drawer, or the whole drawer after an automatic close, is counted by the next shift, and anything over the usual float goes to the safe.
